Travelling Poss.

This morning Leece's mum, Ros, picked Steveg, Maureen and myself up and we travelled down to Mandurah to meet up with Leece and Rob who are tootling around the Murray and Estuary on a houseboat. We had a look at the very expensive, somewhat boring, canal front houses in the canals before mooring and having a BBQ. The others were quite excited at the bird life and could name most of them. I just knew they were birds - ok, ok, I'm an avian philistine. Give me a mammal or a reptile.

Scotland, 24 - 29 Sept.

Ash and I stayed at the Birnam Guest House, a B and B she had found on the net. Lovely it is too. We woke up on the first morning to see mist in the mountains opposite. The owner is a very good chef and there was a delicious choice for breakfast; we both had porridge (mine with salt) and goodies such as stuffed field mushrooms and smoked salmon scrambled eggs.

We had one scary incident - a spider found its way into the room and refused to be picked up. It wasn't Huntsman size but it was big enough to freak out your average arachnophile (ie, me). It ran under the door and steps were taken to ensure it couldn't get back in.

There are some lovely cottages in Dunkeld that line a laneway that leads to the Cathedral. Below is a pic taken of the River Tay glimpsed between two of them.
