Warmish but the sea breeze is in

Mutterings continued.

There was a thunderstorm last night - I heard the thunder but didn't get to see any lightning. L and R said it was very cool forked stuff.

The fish recipe I threw together last night worked out rather well. I discovered I'd run out of breadcrumbs so I made it with diced onion, garlic, paprika, cumin and lemon, basil and thyme. I baked the fish and served it with green salad and tabouleh. V. healthy. As were the desserts Rob served. Ahem.

We watched a very, very engrossing new series called Heroes (SPOILERS!!). We were only going to watch the pilot but had to watch ep 2. We were forced!!

And we watched a very funny ep of Fruits Basket, a great episode of Eureka and a Finnish, and not at all Arabian, The Magic Voyage of Sinbad given the Mystie treatment.

"Shut up and go and change your armour!"

Mutterings continued.

I have MP and the HG on in the background - one of my very favourite movies. Love the music, the photography and the very silly, highly quotable lines. "And Saint Atilla raised the hand-grenade orn high..." "...five is right out!" and of course, the ever-popular, "Run away! Run away!!" It's one of my desert island disks - one of the movies I'd want with me if I was stranded on a desert island (with a dvd player and electricity, obviously).

Dreams. Last night I had three of my recurring dreams, all in one night. The recurring dreams involve my mother (who died in 2004); travelling by public transport (usually trains) and getting lost; and preparing to fly to the UK (usually) and not having a ticket, passport, luggage, etc. In one dream, I was going to the UK, had arranged someone to look after Gus and Milo and was walking across the departure hall at the airport, being unable to find my ticket and passport and unable to remember if I'd actually brought them. This recurring dream always has the same large set of escalators in it - I stand at the bottom, looking up and there's a white window behind it. In another dream, I was in London with Mum (I'd obviously found my ticket and passport) and we were going to a function as guests of Ian McKellen and Judi Dench. The function was in Leeds, which was on the outskirts of London (it's not. It's a long way from London in t'north) and we could catch a train but ended up on a boat. We got where we were headed and ended up sitting in the foyer of a theatre with Sir I and Dame J.

Shiny things - just checked when my next shiny thing purchase is due for release - Parrots of the Carob Bean 3 is due out on the 15th of this month. I've ordered the tinbox set from Ezydvd. I've been watching the extras on X Persons 3 and I can't find the easter eggs or the gag reel - anybody out there know where they are? Ta.

No awards for Props Divas?

Mutterings continued.

From The Stage: "Awards shows such as the National Television Awards (ITV1, Wednesday) are all very well, but they do have a tendency to concentrate on the visual figureheads of each programme — pretty much the only awards given out in terms of technical skill are the Actor and Actress gongs, and even then (especially with the NTAs) the award often ends up in the hands of the shows with the largest fan base. It’s no surprise that Doctor Who actors are in the running for the acting awards at the NTAs this week, of course, and there’s every possibility that they’ll replicate last year’s double, where Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper won.

For me, though, it’s the craft awards that really allow the true talent to shine out. For all our feting of the big name stars, TV is a highly collaborative medium. And the breadth of this year’s Royal Television Society (RTS) Craft and Design Awards nominations show the best of British telly talent." Dr Who is nominated for four awards - Costume, Make Up Design, Production Design, Digital Effects.

Temara the Orang is now in Indonesia as part of the pilot release program. Tomorrow she's off to Jambi and then a trip in a helicopter to Bukit Tigapuluh National Park.

has created some rather gorgeous Winged Nearcats that are sort of based on Milo and Gus. Haven't worked out which ones I want yet, but I will have some. Oh yes! I will have some!
